German-born singer-songwriter Detto, born in the 60s, formerly Creative Director in Germany, has devoted himself entirely to his musical passion in his adopted home of Cape Town.

Under the name “DAS.D” Detto creates a sound reminiscent of the great storytellers of rock music, yet with a touch of his own.
Catchy rock-pop songs inspired by stories of life, fate, and everyday events. Detto‘s music is deeply rooted in the works of legends such as Neil Young, Van Morrison, JJ Cale, Pink Floyd, Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, and Dire Straits. These influences shape a distinctive style that combines lyrical storytelling with melodic, characterful rock.

After emigrating, Detto took advantage of Cape Town‘s inspiring atmosphere to realize his artistic vision. “DAS.D” is designed as a dynamic collaboration in which Detto (guitar, vocals, bass) works with a circle of international musicians.

An integral part of the latest productions, starting with the single “Up to you,” are:

The recordings take place at the renowned Digital Forest Studios in Cape Town, under the technical direction of sound engineer Andrew Rawbone-Viljoen.
